Getting started
- Sign in. Create an account or sign in. The first person to sign in for a new company automatically becomes its owner and gets a new organization.
- Invite your team. From the Team page, copy the invite link and share it however you already communicate with your team (Discord, Slack, and Telegram). Anyone who signs in through that link joins your organization as an employee automatically — no manual approval step.
- Create your shifts. Also from the Team page, define one or more shifts (name, start time, end time) and assign each employee to one. Lateness and overtime tracking only activate once someone has an assigned shift.
- Set your business rules. Visit Settings (admin/owner only) to configure the grace period before a check-in counts as late, your standard workday length, overtime multiplier, pay period, timezone, and currency — all organization-wide defaults you can change at any time.
Employees & roles
Attenzo has exactly four ranked roles: employee, manager, admin, and owner. Each role includes everything the one below it can do, plus more:
- Employee — their own attendance, leave requests, and payslips.
- Manager — their team's attendance, plus approving or rejecting leave requests.
- Admin — team management (roles, rates, shifts, device approval) and running payroll.
- Owner — the only role that can grant or revoke owner access itself. An organization can never be left with zero owners.
Change a member's role, department, job title, hourly rate, or assigned shift from the Team page (admin/owner only). Removing a member is immediate and doesn't affect their historical attendance or payroll records.
Attendance & face verification
Employees can check in three ways: GPS (captured automatically when location access is available), manual (a plain button tap, used as the fallback when location isn't available), and face verification.
Setting up face check-in takes two independent steps:
- Enroll your face from the check-in page — a guided setup asks you to turn your head slowly to each side (a liveness check that a flat photo can't pass) and captures a reference photo your admin can review.
- Get your device approved. The first time you try face check-in, your browser registers itself in a pending state. An admin must approve it from the Team page before face check-in will actually work from that device — this is what stops someone checking in as a colleague on a borrowed, already-unlocked phone.
A short blink-detection check runs before every face check-in to rule out a static photo held up to the camera. Read more on the design tradeoffs in the blog post on device-locked check-in.
Mobile apps
Attenzo installs like a native app without shipping separate iOS/Android codebases. On Android and desktop Chrome, tap the install prompt when it appears. On iOS Safari, tap the Share icon, then Add to Home Screen.
Once installed, static assets are cached for fast, reliable loading, and a fallback offline page appears if you open the app with no connection at all. API responses are never cached — attendance and payroll data is always fetched fresh, since it's tenant-scoped and changes constantly.
Payroll & leave
Generate a payroll run from the Payroll page (admin/owner only) by selecting a period — Attenzo computes regular and overtime pay per employee from their closed (checked-out) attendance records and configured hourly rate. Employees without a rate configured are skipped, not defaulted to zero pay.
Leave requests are submitted by employees and approved or rejected by manager+. Vacation requests are checked against a rolling 12-month balance computed from tenure and the organization's configured accrual rate; other leave types (sick, personal, unpaid) aren't balance-limited.
Export attendance, leave, payroll, or headcount data as CSV any time from the Reports page (manager+; payroll reports are admin/owner only) — no support ticket required.
